“If they can't learn the way we teach, we teach the way they learn.”

Meet Amy Backes, LBA
As a seasoned professional in Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA), I've been dedicated in supporting individuals with Autism and related diagnoses since 2006. Beginning at the LOVAAS Institute in California, I acquired a solid foundation in ABA and hold certifications as both a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) and a Licensed Behavioral Analyst (LBA) in NY.
Throughout my career, I've expanded my expertise across diverse settings, including in-home, public, and private schools, as well as clinical environments. Collaborating within interdisciplinary teams, I've refined my skills in direct care, supervision, and the development of comprehensive behavior intervention and treatment plans to ensure support for individuals and families.
Beyond my professional role, I'm deeply committed to community engagement. Whether teaching tailored baking classes for individuals with ASD or serving as a board member for the FDNY Special Needs Group, my passion for inclusivity shines through. Through volunteer efforts like the FSI Hackathon for Autism, I strive to create meaningful opportunities for success and foster a supportive environment for all.
“Amy is the best of the best! She knows just how to reach and engage our neurodivergent child, and she has an amazing rapport with our entire family. Amy tailors her high-quality ABA therapy to meet our son’s personality and needs, and the results have been life-changing for him and our family. Amy cares so much about her clients and their evolution— we can’t recommend her enough!”
